At age five, one knows little about the world beyond familiar surroundings. So, imagine
being spirited away to a life on a different continent, in a different country, with different
languages and virtually nothing familiar except immediate family.
This is exactly what happened to the Author. In this book, 4200 Days in Africa, Brooks
remembers and relives his early years by describing his escapades and experiences as
a boy living in Africa. He never thought his life was dramatically different from anyone
else’s. Each year, he returned for a holiday to the States, where he saw another type of
life. Still, he was never envious of or interested in staying there, for his home was in Africa.
The stories in this book will enable the reader to understand why Brooks was so content
with his African life. These “all true” stories are full of discoveries, lessons, challenges,
and surprises that may cause readers to reflect on their own childhoods.
4200 Days in Africa will be available on July 18, 2024!
